First Lady Cheryl Wooten, a proud New Jersey native, embarked on a journey that intertwined faith, community service, and education, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate to cross her path. Her life's narrative took a poignant turn when she joined hands in matrimony with her beloved husband, the Reverend Bruce Wooten. Together, they have built a legacy of love, commitment, and devotion, witnessing the joys of parenthood and the blessings of grandchildren.
Cheryl's dedication to serving others extends beyond her family. Before uniting with her husband, Cheryl served in the United States military until her daughter was born in 1986.
With a heart attuned to the community's needs, she has played a pivotal role in various leadership positions. Notably, she served as the local president of the Missionary Society, where her passion for outreach and compassionate service was expressed. Her commitment to uplifting others and spreading love and hope made her an inspirational figure among her peers.
Currently residing in the heart of Virginia, Lady Cheryl has also served as the District President for the Ministers Spouses, Widows, and Widowers Department, a position she earned through her unwavering dedication to the community. Elected in 2022, Cheryl strived to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those around her, offering support, empathy, and a steadfast presence. In 2018, First Lady Wooten noticed a gap in the ministry to women. Thus, she founded the Women's Ministry in consultation with her husband. This ministry addresses the needs and concerns practically, enhancing women's spiritual growth in her congregation and beyond.
Academically, Cheryl has equipped herself with a Master's degree in family counseling, showcasing her commitment to understanding and addressing the intricate dynamics of relationships. Her academic pursuits are complemented by certifications earned from the state of Virginia, a testament to her professionalism and expertise in her field.
Amidst the busyness of her roles and responsibilities, Cheryl finds solace in her favorite scripture: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on. Your understanding; in all your ways submit to. Him, and He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6) This verse encapsulates her unwavering faith, giving her strength and tranquility despite life's challenges.
Cheryl Wooten's journey is one of faith, family, and service—a narrative woven with threads of love and commitment. Her impact resonates within the walls of her home and throughout the communities she has touched, leaving a legacy of compassion, leadership, and spiritual fortitude.
